Ross Macdonald is a professional bassist who hails from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. His musical skills have taken him around the world, playing music in Dubai at the 7 star Burj al Arab, the tallest hotel in the world, and cruising on the world’s only residence ship, The World.
He is the bassist for the Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific, which is one of the six full-time Regular Force bands within the Canadian Forces.After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from McGill University, he was a freelance musician in the MontrĂ©al scene for three years, working for Princess Cruises, Holland America and aboard The World. He then spent three three years playing music in his hometown of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, before relocating to Victoria, British Columbia in 2009.
He has played upright and electric bass in hundreds of venues with countless other musicians. He has also played in the Charlottetown Festival, and at the Jubilee Theatre.
